Sodium Sulfate, also known as Na2So4 is an ionic compound that is used in a variety of ways. This compound is most commonly used as table salt and was also used in Egypt to aid in the process of mummification. Since the compound is ionic, this means that this compound does not form molecules and has a high melting point. This also means that the compound has a crystal shape at room temperature and can conduct electricity when melted or dissovled. To conclude, the compound contains a polyatomic ion. When descirbed as a polyatomic ion this means that the compound has a group of elements with an overall charge.
