Conclusion
During this experiment, sodium carbonate powder and copper sulfate were mixed together. The two mixed together produced 0.0075 grams of sodium sulfate. We know that a reaction has occurred by several observations that were noticed while conducting the experiment. One of three of the observations was a change in color. In the beginning, was a deep blue color and at the end the mixture turned into a light baby blue color. Another observation was the formation of a precipitate which is a cloud that forms that makes the substance unclear and the final observation was bubbling. All of these three observations show that a reaction actually occurred and the experiment was a success!
Sources of Error
Some sources of error are possibly measuring the mass of the beaker as accurately, unequal amounts of sodium carbonate and copper sulfate mixed together and finally the sodium carbonate and copper sulfate that was mixed together may not have been mixed together as well causing the mixture to produce a small amount of sodium sulfate.
